cTel opened its first call center on July 15th, 2003 in a 5,000 square foot facility located in the Maury County Shopping Center in Columbia, Tennessee. The Columbia center will employ approximately 85 customer contact representatives when fully staffed with expansion potential to over 200 seats. We have partnered with the South Central Tennessee Career Center to provide all new hire pre-screen, testing and orientation.

The Company is currently looking at locating additional centers in small or disadvantaged counties throughout the State of Tennessee. This decision by management uniquely positions the Company to focus growth efforts in those counties in most need of economic development and training. Many programs are available by federal, state and local municipalities to incentivise companies in the areas of capital, recruitment and training. This decision will afford the Company with becoming, in many cases, one of the larger employers of the counties where cTel centers are located and thus attracting higher levels of talent and motivation. Currently, cTel is considering 13 counties for future expansion due to their “distressed” status and/or where certain grant funds are available depending on project type. Those counties are Campbell, Clay, Cocke, Davidson, Fentress, Grundy, Hancock, Jackson, Johnson, Meigs, Morgan, Scott and Trousdale.
